What if i have dietary restrictions or food allergies?

We CAN provide substitutions for vegetarians but we CANNOT make substitutions for any other food allergies (such as gluten-free or dairy-free).

Substitutions must be requested in advance with your ticket purchase. All tastings have been prepared in advance at each location, based on the information you provided to us at the time of ticket purchase. Last minute dietary changes on tour can not be accommodated. This is a carefully choreographed food ballet!

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our food tours have been designed to highlight the best and most distinctive foods from each establishment.

We work with the best food purveyors. Keeping things streamlined ensures that guests have a consistently high quality experience.

There isn’t always a “next best” option that meets the special dietary needs of each of our guests. Since we have your health (and palate!) in mind, we truly appreciate your understanding on this issue.

Are there vegetarian options?

Yes! If we know in advance, we will do our best to make appropriate substitutions for you on all of the tours.

What types of food are served?

You will taste foods and beverages that Portland is famous for, and some that are just unique and hard to find anywhere else. For specific details on what is sampled, visit our event-specific pages.

How much food is served?

Our Morning Brunch and Munch Tasting Tour includes 4-5 tasting locations, with 8-16 tastings along the way.

Our Afternoon Food Cart All-Stars Tasting Tour offers numerous bite-size tastings.

Should I eat anything before coming?

We recommend that you eat a light meal before joining us for the tours. The amount of food sampled on the tours is significant enough that many people delay or skip lunch afterwards, or will opt for a later dinner depending on the tour time.

Are there Kosher options?

The majority of the food tastings are not guaranteed kosher.

Do we only walk around and taste food?

Your tour guide will tell you the backstory about the unique Portland food scene.

Are there any beverages served?

We taste sipping chocolate on the Morning Brunch and Munch Tasting Tour, and some restaurants also provide glasses of water, but you are on your own for other beverages.

Why is bottled water not included?

Portland is an eco-conscious and green city. Most tour companies do not include bottled water on tours to save bottles from landfills. We encourage guests to bring a reusable bottle filled with water to the tours. Alternatively, bottled water is available for purchase along the way.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Can I get a refund or reschedule my tickets?

Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed on the event. Our events often sell out. If an event is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

If your child is 3 years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless if he/she will be participating in the tastings.

Who Can Attend

Are there age restrictions?

Children are welcome on most of the tours, but please bear in mind that some children have a limited attention span and therefore a 2-3 hour tour or event may not be appropriate for them. Parents know their children best and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing, walking, and market congestion, please consider this when deciding whether the tours and events are appropriate for your child.
